Rockit can make use of
user defined shortcut keys, which can make playing
much easier and intuitive. Assigning a key to a
Rockit command, can by much quicker and easier, than
dragging a mouse around while you are doing a gig.
Rockit can make use of
multiple shortcut mappers, but for this exercise, we
will be using the default mapper that ships with
Rockit.
First, let's go to the
Config, and click the Shortcuts icon on the left,
and here is what we'll see.

For this exercise, what
I will do, is change the shortcut key for fast
forwarding deck A. In this case, you can see the
command table listed to the left, and the key combo
listed to the right. The C, A and S columns, are for
the Ctrl, Alt and Shift keys.
Currently, a-ff (fast
forward deck A), is mapped to Ctrl+right, which is
the right arrow key, along with the Ctrl key. I want
to change that to Ctrl+K (not really, but I'll do it
anyway) :)
I simply double-click
the a-ff line, and this brings up the key editor:

As we can see, the
command is mapped to the Ctrl+right key. We click
the drop down arrow, and select the "k" key, and we
will see this.

Click the Save button,
and the mapper is automatically updated, and ready
to go. And we will now see this:

And that is all there is
to it! Your keyboard mapping has been changed on the
fly, and is ready to go! |
